Likeliness: 6/10 Tifa's in high requests to return after her not so spectacular debut back in Season 2, and with her two other most popular options occupied at the moment, but the competition on her side is still pretty big and Knuckles isn't the first character you would think of when it comes to Sonic returnees. It would make for the perfect joke episode. Why I want this: While it was easy to find solo matchups for the other Turtles (Donnie has Tim Drake and Raph has Elektra), Mikey, was a bit of an oddball for me, sure, Rash is a good matchup, but he never just clicked with me. Why I want this: My god this matchup is so much fun, not only that it's also hella underrated, from the solid connections and how similar they are, to the great animation potential with all of their creative sand powers leading to a fun and awesome fight, the music potential is great, throw in a really solid debate as to who wins, and you have a great matchup on your hands, plus the potential for an Anakin joke during the analysis. And without further ado, if you know me, then number 1 is rather obvious. In the fandom, they are both considered the main rival to one of the main protagonists (THE main in Togas case, as many people see her as Dekus, while Neos rivalry with Yang is one of the most famous ones in the series), but in fan projects, theyre often portrayed as anti-heroes who are willing to team up with the heroes (And thats not even getting into the shipping fics). Likeliness: 3/10 SMG4 isn't on the crew's radar but this is pretty popular so it could happen. Dedue Molinaro VS Ira Gamagori (Fire Emblem VS Kill La Kill), 103. Why I want this: Not only does this provide such a unique franchise combo, but this matchup has tons of good qualities, connections are good, animation potential is n-ice (heh), music potential is awesome, since MK X Star Wars would make me nut, but the interactions could also be rather interesting as well, all in all, it would make for such an interesting episode in my eyes. Both also utilise a wide variety of elemental abilities and, ironically, are often associated with meteors (Rayquaza often being tasked with destroying one in various games while Bahamut infamously was inside a meteor that it emerged from and proceeded to destroy the world in Final Fantasy XIV). Connections: Villains that started out as normal humans living inhumane lives (human trafficking and thievery respectively) before being met with tragedy. Both ironically also get into their fair share of scuffles with a pair of twins (Aura and Mare for Shalltear and Suiseiseki and Souseiseki for Suigintou). And Yoshi, I know Blaze is a thing. Both end the villain and suffer a huge loss, but ultimately save the world and create a new age for humanity to prosper. It's a good Mercury matchup, I'm satisfied. Thoughts on alternatives: Magneto VS Accelerator is good, but I already prefer Kurumi so there goes that idea, Dr. Polaris is boring, Silver and M.Bison are okay, but nothing too special, Danny is what, Pyrrha is spite, and can someone please tell me why Magneto VS Sinestro is a thing?! Pikachu vs. Zatch Bell. Why I want this: This is honestly Silver's best matchup, Mewtwo's been deconfirmed, Trunks stomps him hard as balls (unless it's Archie Silver and in that case Silver yeets), and Ness has better options. 3 - Fnaf. Why I want this: Because honestly, it might be an omega godstomp, but it's a damn fun omega godstomp, connections are shockingly good, given how similar these two are in terms of backstory, the animation potential, while it could be better, is still pretty great with their weapons clashing with each other pretty well, the music potential is also pretty great as well, I'd kill to hear an MCU styled score mixed with MK music, it'd be way too good, and the interaction potential is also pretty solid, all in all, it might be a stomp, but I feel like it's other aspect more than make up for the fact of how much of a stomp in my eyes. Both are outcasts of society (The Burnish are discriminated against and hunted down, and Ann was outcast for being very beautiful and a foreigner and The Phantom Thieves in general are people who have lost their place in society) that fight against evil politicians who are favored by the people (Foresight and Shido respectively), both also team up with a hot-headed guy (Galo and Ryuji respectively) and both of their powers manifest through other beings (The fire wielded by the burnish is alive and Ann's Persona). Furthermore, both inherited their abilities through their respective parents (Shirou received magic thanks to Kiritsugu and training and Noctis' powers are a family inheritance) and lost their own parents due to tragic events caused by the war they're in (Shirou lost his family in a fire caused by Kiritsugu and Noctis lost his father after Niflheim attacked his kingdom) and a lot of their weapons consist of other weapons of warriors of ancient times (With Shirou having multiple weapons of the servants he beat like Berserkers' club, Caster's sai, etc. Winner: Looking back, I think Genocider is a much safer bet since while it's not all that one-sided, it's still clear cut. From the amazing animation potential, since their abilities clash so well with each other it'd make for such a fun animation, to the music potential, given how good their themes it'd make for one of the best soundtracks in Death Battle history, to the fantastic banter potential given Hela's raging, impatient nature meshing all too well with Izanami and her more emotionless nature which could lead to some great interactions, plus it's also somewhat close and that's always welcome.
